Race 4: Lausitzring (D) 16/06/2013

Today, full throttle is the rule where once brown coal was mined. The Lausitzring, opened in 2000, is Europe’s most modern circuit. The enormous main grandstand in particular is very imposing. From its upper ranks you can see across almost the entire track. “On this track you need a car that functions well both mechanically and aerodynamically since the Lausitzring has a mixture of both fast and slow corners,” knows Timo Scheider. Another particular difficulty for the drivers is the smooth tarmac track surface that provides very little grip. This makes it very difficult to find the right set-up.
