Silverstone

Race 1: Silverstone (GB) 14/04/2013

The circuit, a part of which runs on an old military airfield, is regarded as the home of modern motorsport. The first Formula 1 World Championship race ever was held here in 1950. The circuit is also very popular among drivers due to the ultra fast corner combination of Maggotts-Becketts-Chapel. The Scot Allan McNish praises: “There is a good balance of fast and slow corners.” Oliver Jarvis, who contests his home race here, adds: “The circuit is fantastic. I’m delighted that the World Championship races here because Silverstone is the home of British motorsport.”
